Retreat Memories
Dear Reader, if you know me, you’ll know that I love retreats. Today’s post is a retreat reflection from my journal dated July 15, 2022. I share it here because it is tender to my heart, and because I hope it inspires you to consider going on a retreat yourself. There is something about getting away from it all to seek the Lord in the quietness of soul. I find that clutter moves aside, and what is important tends to surface. Such is the case discovered below.
✢. ✢ ✢. ✢. ✢
This retreat has primarily been a gentle stirring of the hand of God within my heart. Not a deep unearthing. Just gentleness. Just holy slow simple yearnings.
I’m grateful for the
not have to’s - not ought to’s - not whatevers
It just was - what it was - and I rest…
Stirring of dreams roll again in my soul
having been buried yet still alive
my call to write
in finding / accepting / owning my voice - my heart
I find again what was there
waiting. calling. wooing
I find me
in Christ
and maybe… just maybe
in a healthy way
I find me - in others
through reflections of wholeness
even in wounds
He is the fullness that fills all in all
and all includes
me.
Thank you, Lord.
Mary
