The One Who Understands
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are–yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:15-16 NIV
When I look back through my life and recall times of difficulty, I see a constant thread that has gotten me through. I know Jesus gets my humanity.
I am forever grateful that Jesus is God. Yet when I am sorrowful or questioning or tempted, I know I can turn to Him for help… because He understands. He took on the form of human flesh. He became man.
I can turn to Him in confidence when I am weary, because He knows what it is like to be weary.
I can turn to Him when rejected, because He knows what it is like to be rejected.
I can turn to Him no matter the test or trial or temptation, because He was tested and tried and tempted in every possible way.
I have no fear in approaching Him for help, because I know Him to be my Faithful High Priest who knows how to help my weakness. He remembers what it feels like to go through whatever I approach Him with. And He cares. Thank God!
Therefore! I draw near with confidence to His Throne of Grace that I might obtain Mercy and find Grace That Helps In Time Of Need.
Grace that is greater than weariness, struggle, or pain.
Grace that is greater than sin and all its impact.
Grace that is abundantly available to help.
Grace that comes from
