I have a rule for when I pray for my enemies or for those I am struggling with. I end that prayer time with this. Start with me, Lord. Everything I just prayed for them, I ask you to also do in me. Trust me, that’s a quick way to get delivered from the temptation of praying wrathful prayers. It most definitely centers me in mercy. Lord knows, we could all use that. Especially me!
