Awakened by Love

“The Lord GOD has given me the tongue of disciples, So that I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word. He awakens me morning by morning, He awakens my ear to listen as a disciple.” – Isaiah 50:4

One of my favorite memories comes from when my children were in preschool. I had been dreaming when I sensed an unusual presence hovering right above my face. I was still half asleep, so I had no idea what was going on. I eventually opened my eyes to find the two most beautiful faces gazing on me. My heart still feels the closeness of their breath as they said, “Are you awake yet, Mom? Dad said not to wake you!” Even so, our Lord eagerly waits to wake us each morning with comforting words from His voice.
